Harald Tauchmann has been a professor of health economics at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg since October 2012. Previously, he was a junior research group leader at the Health Economics Research Centre CINCH and a research associate at RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research in Essen. He studied economics, political science, sociology, and biology at the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg and the University of Manchester. He subsequently obtained his doctorate at the Interdisciplinary Institute for Environmental Economics at the University of Heidelberg. His research focuses on applied econometrics and empirical health economics, emphasizing health insurance competition and individual health behaviour.

 

Harald Tauchmann ist seit Herbst 2012 Professor für Gesundheitsökonomie an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Zuvor war er Nachwuchsgruppenleiter am Gesundheitsökonomischen Forschungszentrum CINCH und Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am RWI – Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung in Essen. Er studierte Volkswirtschaftslehre, Politische Wissenschaft, Soziologie und Biologie an der Ruprecht-Karls Universität Heidelberg sowie der University of Manchester, und promovierte sich anschließend am Interdisziplinären Institut für Umweltökonomie der Universität Heidelberg. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen angewandte Ökonometrie und empirische Gesundheitsökonomie, mit den Themenschwerpunkten Krankenkassenwettbewerb und individuelles Gesundheitsverhalten.
