Teaching

The Professorship of Health Economics is represented in both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. Further information on the content and organization of the courses for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs can be found via the corresponding links in the navigation bar.

An economic understanding of health issues is becoming increasingly important. We teach quantitative and econometric methods to analyze health issues such as insurance design, individual health behavior, and the provision of health services. For students who want to delve deeper into current health economics research, we offer a seminar every summer semester. The seminar is a good (but not mandatory) prerequisite for a bachelor’s thesis in health economics.

Economic thinking has become increasingly important in health care. We teach students the quantitative and econometric tools to analyze health related issues such as insurance-design, individual health behaviour and provision of health care services. In our master seminar students can apply their theoretical knowledge in a small research project. The seminar is a good (but no necessary) preparation for a health economic master thesis.
